Grim Wolves was established in 2012 by a group of spirited, equable, like-minded individuals who sought to achieve excellence in the field of competitive massively multiplayer online gaming. Upon it's inception, Grim Wolves was solely a Guild Wars 2 guild focussed on PvE/WvW progression. Since then, we have evolved into a semi-hardcore multi-game community of friends, with members in Gauteng, the Western Cape and Kwazulu-Natal. Our aim is to provide a multi-game, MMO-oriented clan for South African gamers with a "semi-hardcore" but "dedicated" play style. By "semi-hardcore" we mean those who have real life commitments (i.e. studies, jobs, family obligations or other pastimes) and whose game time may be erractic or limited. By "dedicated" we mean those who immerse themselves fully in the games that they play and put 110% effort into staying “on top of their game”. We aim to provide a stable, fun and friendly community in which our clan members may feel at home.
Though we are particular about the calibre of those we accept into our gaming family, we're not elitist jerks who thrive on e-peen, trash talk or humiliating our less experienced gamers. This means that we'll go out of our way to ensure that our members are getting a fair deal, however, we expect contribution in return. The more you put in, the more you'll get out. We're most certainly not a clan for 'peen stars, lurkers, freeloaders or quitters. We're a clan for ambitious, helpful, adaptable, outgoing team players with a good sense of humour; who strive to better themselves as gamers. If you're Señor Solo Casualo; never online, dislike group activities, helping fellow members, or pushing for clan progression: then Grim Wolves is probably not for you.
We represent quality, not quantity. We stake no claim to being the biggest local clan, but are proud to have among our ranks some of South Africa's most notorious online gaming/Do Gaming League veterans from both Unforgiven Gaming (est. 2007) and Veneration E-Sports (est. 2012) (i.e. Quake, Counter Strike, DotA, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Starcraft, World of Warcraft). As a community, we have considerable MMO experience, and look forward to expanding our membership in all the existing and upcoming MMOs we'll be participating in this year!
Recruitment is currently open to all English speaking (i.e. need to be able to read/speak/understand English in-game and on Teamspeak 3) residents of South Africa and Northern/Western Europe. All active gamers (whether they be semi-hardcore or hardcore; PvP'rs or end-game PvE'rs) are welcome to apply, however, certain skillset levels will have to be met as far as inclusion in our competitive end-game PvE and PvP teams is concerned.
